Julian Rodriguez Varela is a Miami-based media composer and violinist whose work is rooted in a deep love for cinematic storytelling. Classically trained from a young age, he spent much of his life performing in orchestras, where he developed a lasting connection to the emotional language of symphonic music and film scores.
As a performer, Julian has collaborated with artists including Emilio Estefan, LL Cool J, and will.i.am, contributing to world premiere recordings and major productions. His background as a working violinist continues to shape his compositional voice, giving him an instinctive understanding of orchestration and live performance. In addition to composing, he records violin for clients and brings hands-on production experience to every project.
Julian holds a Master of Music in Media Scoring and Production from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, where he studied under Emmy Award–winning composer Carlos Rafael Rivera. He also earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Florida International University and remains active as an educator in the Miami community.
Julian approaches each project with a collaborative mindset, crafting music that supports story, elevates emotion, and connects with modern audiences.
